|
Results:
At first, most of the children didn't like the concept and wanted to do the card the “traditional” way. However, after some insisting from the volunteers they gave in.
Almost all the children enjoyed doing the craft and they were quite concentrated on getting it right because they were going to give it to someone else.
Even due to the restrictive nature of the craft, some children managed to come up with alterations to certain steps. (see below)
Improvements:
-
On the first step some children, by mistake made the fold larger than the intended size. They refolded it to the proper size. The original crease remained, which resulted in a more “3D-esque” card while giving more space for the bird to reside in.
-
Some children didn't roll the crépépapier into the balls and stuck smallish pieces all over appropriate areas, similar to a mosaic.
-
One particular child wanted to use crépépapier colours that were not available so crayons were used to colour over the original colour.
